    Don't Blame Facebook for Desperation

    My (LEO) Horoscope for Today:
"You've been worried that you offended someone recently with your verbal enthusiasm. Don't give it a second thought. In fact, expect some crazy energy that will entice you to speak bolder and more directly. You'll likely realize that whatever you were worried about isn't even close to what's going on now. Smile pretty. It might help when those verbal daggers come flying out of your mouth."

    Anyways... On with my blog!

As I was surfing Yahoo this morning, reading my horoscope... I came across a startling article about a 17-year old girl who was raped and murdered by a 33-year old man that she had met online. He had been posing as a teenage boy on Facebook: a social networking website which allows friends to share & connect.

So now, the media is blaming Facebook for its lack of protection from Internet predators, and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah yady yady ya... . . . .

And well... I just HAD to add MY two cents! ;)

    1. Don't Add/Accept Strangers
It's just common sense people! Why would you add or accept someone that you don't know? That's clearly an open invitation! We were born with eyes for a reason, hello?! It's supposed to be used for observation, isn't it? If you can't tell a real person from a fake person, you should not be alive. Seriously... and if someone has comments on their wall from people saying things like, "who are you?" and "do I know you?"... it's a fake account! Common sense dude! Just saying. LOL!

    2. Privacy Settings
Facebook is one of the safest online communities apart from Myspace, Twitter, BEBO and such. The best thing about FB is YOU choose how you want to be protected. There is no reason why you should accept everyone who adds you as a friend. Having a bigger network of "friends" doesn't make you cool; especially if you don't even talk to them. AND don't give me that look! You know that you don't talk to every single one of your 968 "friends"! LOL! EVEN I know that you know that! So please... do us (people who want to keep FB alive) all a favor and keep your friends list at a minimum level of "friends only". Again, that applies to common sense.

    3. Eighteen+
I didn't have a Facebook until I started college. I was 18-years old then and tired of Myspace, because there was an over capacity of children "Myspacing" amongst me, and it got really annoying! So I left and joined Facebook. The first two weeks, I was on the brink of giving up... never felt so mentally challenged before in my cyber life. LOL! It definitely took time to adjust... but once I got the hang of it, I was hooked! Since November though, I've been seeing so many kids on Facebook. Makes me feel so childish being on there. By kids, I'm not just talking about 13-16 year olds. I'm talking about 9-12 year olds - ON FACEBOOK! WTF?!! And the media blames FB before the parents of these children? BUULLLSHIITT...!

    4. Online Dating = Failure
Girls and boys...... Boys and girls. Why? OH, why? Just... just don't do it! Online dating is like, talking to a wall. Especially if it's LONG DISTANCE online dating, it's like talking to yourself, which is much worse because you just look downright crazy! LOL. Don't meet up with people you've never met before, especially if they aren't friends with you or anyone you know.

BOTTOM LINE: Don't be desperate for LOVE.

Desperation never ends well, and it can [MAY] get you killed. So, if you want a boyfriend or girlfriend, find love the right way and date the right way. However, if you are unattractive and hopeless ... lose weight and buy some makeup! Don't settle for less, and never take the easy way out. Life is hard and love is even harder. We all go through it, so don't think you're any more special than the rest of us. Love is a lot of things, but it is never unsure, and if you're unsure about the people that you talk to... follow your instincts and JUST BE SMART! :)
